Father,
Help me to recognize that you alone are the author of my story, and your plans for me are not to harm me, but to prosper me. Help me to always remember that.
All of those times you’ve been there beside me and guided me along this journey, and your Spirit has been my only companion in faith, and all I’ve needed: advising me, warning me, encouraging me to have faith and hope and to persevere…
I have Lord, through the most painful seasons of my life and you’ve never let me down or allowed anything come to pass that wasn’t already part of your plan for me. Thank you for the pain I have suffered, because it was never about punishment but preparation for the redemption that will come.
Help me to remember that You are the author of my life and that this is a story of faith, forgiveness and joy.
It may be a while longer but that’s ok – because what’s remaining in your divine work is happening and transforming in my life now.
I will never forget the day in January you spoke to me and gave me a choice – to choose life over death. And again, by your power and mercy Father I chose life.
Thank you.
Please help me to shift my focus onto the growth and change you are doing in my life right now and how wonderful it is, and help me to let go of the past and the sorrow and anger I feel over a life lived in bondage – that through your mercy and grace I have broken free from those chains that enslaved me and am now free again Lord.
Help me to stop grieving a past that was death and start celebrating a new forgiven life and a chosen future that is filled with peace, joy, and eternal life.
You loved me enough to save me. There are no words that can express how grateful I am for that Lord.
Amen
